When we first crossed over into Colorado, all I could think of was the Rockies. I guess that is all anyone thinks of right? NOT. It is pretty much like Kansas. More corn! Not to say its not beautiful, just not what you expect. From the back of the Durango "I hear Mama, where are these mountains of which Brodie always speaks?", hahaha... I had to laugh and think of the lines from the stupid movie, dumb and dumber. Well, it seems my friends you have to go a bit more westward to see those wonderful mountains. There is a neat little chain of stores called the "loaf n jug" at which you can use your Kroger card and get a gas discount-BONUS... always love getting discounts. On our approach to Colorado Springs, Co up 24 there was a terrible storm brewing in the distance. Absolutely beautiful to see the clouds, the lightening and the rain fall. As we climbed in elevation the winds howled around the truck. We finally arrived in Co Springs getting to our friends, the Herrings house for a day of rest in Colorado. What a great place to rest... mmmm I am thinking if AK doesn't work out I am moving to CO. Humidity was only 37% and it was July!!! I don't believe it.
With Love my friends,
Angela
