We entered the state in Crow country. I saw from the window an Indian child riding a horse. The image was something you would think was from a movie. Long flowing black hair, a paint horse, a tan vest. The hair from the child and from the horse shimmering in the sunlight and wind. If I didn't know better I would have thought it was a movie set just ready for us to cross the border. "Come visit our reservation!" the scene seemed to say, but it was just a child riding a horse in the pasture. When we stopped for dinner at a local McDonalds I thought for sure one of the workers looked just like the actor who played Paul in the twilight series. I almost took a picture for a few friends, but I didn't want to frighten the poor man. :0)
Traveling north we stopped in Judith Gap at some wonderful wind farms. These windfarms are just a sight to see. The sheer size of the windmills will amaze you when you come up on them.
We stopped in Shelby, MT to spend the night and to visit Glacier National Park. If you didn't know where Shelby was on the map it would be a bit hard to find. There is railroad there and Shelby is called the crossroads. We used Shelby as a way to get to the park. You have to cross over to Black foot territory to get to the park. We were able to visit the Plains Indians museum there. I found that very fascinating.
Shelby is 30 miles from the border of Canada. Next post is just Glacier National park.
Until then my friends
Love,
Angela
